    Heaters

Hydor inline Heaters are great just wish they'd make a larger connection for the FX5/6 filters as necking down the hoses is always a pain!
  2. So I am looking at setting up a Cory tank but for multiple species. Is a 90g divided into 4 compartments, with each having a spray bar across the top and Porte foam filter on the drain a good setup with an FX5/6 and an inline Heater a good way to go? The risks are that all four tanks are hooked up to one central filter and diseases could become common. Spawning mops? What's the best material and what's the best conditioning food? I have access to live, frozen and freeze dried. Beef heart a good supplement as I have discus as well. I am liking at the following cories to start: Duplicareus, Adolfi, similis, sterbia, weitzmani in tank 1 and tank 2 green lasers, reynoldsi, schwartzi, and CW51 - 10 of each in each compartment. Please post all your thoughts as I am in the design process and have mainly adults with the duplicareus being the only juvies. Can I also keep Apistos in the same tanks? Or should I put it as has anyone ever had success in breeding apistos along side cories in the same tanks? (Cacautoides, viejeta, agassizi, blue German rams) I have soft water (Kinetico system with RO if needed) with a pH of 7.8 (Calgary) and I can take that down lower if needed. Most of my cories at home are at 82F and 6.5 with discus. Not ideal for some but they sure like the beef heart and bloodworm diets!
  3. Post the name and quantity as I get plants in from Florida every second week and I can see what they have.
  4. Hey at least you did not lose a tank of Fish like I did this Monday from my office neighbour doing electrical work and shutting off my power for the whole weekend!! I was pissed and then converted it to a planted community tank! Looks awesome with 50-60 wild angels (Peruvian Altums, Brazilian Scalare, Colombian Leopoldi) and tonnes of tetras!
  5. A crap load of cories! Schwartzi, nattereri, orange and green lasers, robustus, plants, Kubotai and zodiac loaches with a few tetras of course
  6. That UV will only clear the water with that wattage vs FX5 HP - best to go up to 36watts if you want to use it for any type of disease control. Laguna sells a nice one for about the same as that 13watt and it's meant to go on filters the size of the FX5. Plus you'll get it cheap as the pond season is pretty much done! You will like it better as the UV bulbs are cheaper and readily available at lighting stores.
  7. Need some fish for the auction? I have some repashy food and other stuff as well. Let me know.
  8. Thinking of.... Your a little too far down the path!!
  9. I would venture that part for CFIA is limited in it's correctness as they so their work at the importation point.
  10. You probably had sensible parents! When it comes to fish I am questionable about sensibility!
  11. I can house the severums - 580g at my kids school needs some more!
  12. I have Finnex FugeRay II, Monster Ray, 7000K and the 7000K planted + and I am very happy with them all. More so with the planted + as its a great blend with the 7000K and red LED's with a long chord! I have 2 more I bought for sale in Calgary - 180.00ea - 48" models in the box. Let me know if there are any interested parties.
  13. As always Mark you are out doing yourself! Beautiful!
  14. I concur - I also know not to argue too long with her- Red Green Motto!
  15. Starting to sound like a different club! I can open my office up as my wife will not trophy up for that day! Is there a specific time that this will occur? My office is on the 8th floor so I need to open the door and scan card the elevator if I were to do this.
  16. I am always interested in trying things out but in this case it did little for my plants - now the CO2 has created massive growth for everything and I am clipping Ludgwgia repens, hygro, and watching my Swords explode! Green everywhere! Finnex 7000K lights (2) and one Fugeray
  17. Okay great - I don't seem to have that problem on CanadaPleco. As well how does one delete pics posted once they are obsolete?
  18. Got one and it sits under my tank in the box now. Gadgets are my weakness - it did nothing to my planted tank so I am back on the bottle!! In this case it's a good thing! I bought mine a whole ago so I am the first to get duped, don't feel bad I was first.
  19. So I got 20 and only 10 survived the trip from Brazil but they are from the Belle Monte region and I have never heard of them. They have colored up well after three days and a good shot of Metro. They are eating bloodworms, and frozen brine shrimp and seem very casual around the Proximus and Winemilleri. Tank is at pH7.8 and 83F with a tonne of plants and sandy bottom. Anyone know much about them? They are only 1/4" tall and 2" long but they are curious things coming tro the front of the glass already when I approach. PM for pictures as I can't post anything (how do I delete things to make space?)
  20. Wayne at Riverfront Aquarim sells live mysis shrimp but they sell out quickly as well as live white worm cultures.
  21. Hoplias are quite common in Colombia as I have seen many oddities in these Cory bags as many juvenile fish travel within these large schools like nurseries. Only to find that they are helping raise their predators!

    Finnex

No they ship right to your door. Big problem you have to remember is where to go if you have to service these lights and Rich does look after his customers.

    Finnex

I have a few 48" 7000k as I get them from Rich. I also have a few used Finnex lights Ray2, monster rays
