Slough Shark
Just wondering if anyone has seen any of these guys lately. Not ready to get one yet, but it would be nice to know if anyone has seen them in the Edmonton area. Looking for Channa gachua and/or Channa bleheri. Thanks, Taylor

Slough Shark
Good, thanks guys. Do either of you remember if it was Gachua or Bleheri?
syno321
They are neither. They are listed as C. "Burma".
Slough Shark
Then it must be C. gachua or C. burmanica- thats good, both stay under 20 cm! Thanks for the info, Taylor

Slough Shark
Nah, I won't go to the trouble of bidding and shipping on AquaBid if I can get one for less money and hassle here in Edmonton. Thanks for the notice though.
Silven
Then it must be C. gachua or C. burmanica- thats good, both stay under 20 cm!Thanks for the info, Taylor No, it was C Pulchra. Also refered to as C Burma because its from Northern Myanmar, aka Burma. I saw them at Big Al's in Edmonton and did some research. They are relatively new to the hobby, and are a dwarf species that need slightly cooler water, and max out around 8 to 10 inches. Very colorful and moderately active. syno321
They got in some really nice CB bleheri that were at least 5" TL. They are as vividly colored as I've seen. (and I've bred them before)
Lance
I saw those snakeheads at big als the other day and I was wondering. how well would 2 snakehead be in a 90 gal heavly planted tank be?
syno321
Those ones you saw are almost full grown and I think that you could easily have six if not more of the bleheri in a well-planted 90.
Lance
hmm now that would be sweet. are they distructive of plants or no??
syno321
The only time mine had anything to do with the plants was to clear some surface plants away from the corner of the tank where they kept their nest of floating eggs.
