Fishful Thinking
You know, looking at the picture of the BN, is that it's defensive barb/blade sticking out on the left hand side?
jvision
The white part? Yep, that's part of it. They have about 3 more spikes on each side.
Fishful Thinking
Cool! No wonder he goes on the glass and no one messes with him!
Vallisneria
Great looking fish! Thought you might want to wipe the glass off before taking pics :P
Fishful Thinking
To be fair, I did eventually clean the glass...but now I see why it got dirty in the first place. Every time I open the lid they are splashing me! Revenge of the fish! Now I just need to get the razor blade out and get rid of some of the algae on the glass. Slough Shark
Is that BN all alone in that tank? If so, 150 gallons is a big job for one BN Pleco, you should get him a few compadres to keep the algae off the glass in the future. This way you wont have to get yourself all wet, trying to reach the very bottom of that tank!!
Fishful Thinking
He's got a 4 inch compadre that has been giving him a hand. The algae is that tough kind that doesn't scrape off easily or is not chewed off easily by the BN. I usually clean it once a month...but that was about two months ago. Slough Shark
LOL, I hear you. That must be a pain to get off in a tank that big.
Fishful Thinking
The king of the tank, my Malawi Sand Diver. And he lives up to his name when I rearrange the decor! That was the biggest scare I've ever had while trying to pick up a "plastic leaf" from off of the sand!
jvision
All these great threads on nice African Cichlids is making me consider moving the plants to the 90 and Tangs to the 135! Nice pics!
Fishful Thinking
Thanks, Jason. That's a pretty nice compliment for us african keepers! You could do some nice things with those tangs in the 135. But then again, could you fit all of your plants into the 90?
