Vallisneria
How big is your Pheno? Just want to get an idea of when they start coloring up(not including the speckles)
Sammy
Its been awhile but I was taken some pictures today and wanted to share a few new ones of the Pheno's progress. He is getting nice flecks on him now. Oh he is about 5.5" right now and a few more to go. Here is one on the little TR that was sent up from Calgary. What a cool little fella he turned out to be. He is my backup/sub incase mr.fancy-pants doesnt perform. How are your Pheno's comming along Degrassi? Got them crazy cats under control yet? Vallisneria
Wow, i can only hope my Phenos get that nice. Right now mine are about 1 1/2". They all have dark black barring with a blueish shine, not sure if this means they are all males or not. They have grown a lot since i got them back in may. Do you happen to know long long it takes for them to start turning blue and getting their speckles? I have read it takes a few years for them to mature but it didnt' say at what age they start getting their male coloring. Thanks, Valerie
DCallele
I have seen Phenos take 6 years to get their spots... mine started at around 4". The Phenos at the Vancouver aquarium are around 8" and are half way there. Definitely a fish for those with patience David
Vallisneria
So it takes them untill 4" so before any speckles start?
