Blinking Light

I have a Cora Life 48 inch fixture with 2 flouresent lights that is about 1.5 years old. It's started randomly blinking. Does anyone know if or how I can fix this?

have you tried taking the bulbs out and checking for any rust in the socket area?

If it's blinking, it could be a problem with the ballast. Try new bulbs first, but if that doesn't fix the problem, you're going to need a new ballast.

The connections are clean and the bulbs are new. Only used about a month before the blinking started. I don't know much about the lights so can you help me out and let me know what the ballast is and how to replace this?

They are round white cylindrical pieces (about 2") that stick out inside the fixture. I would try them first as they are cheaper than new bulbs. The should just pull off and pop the new one on. Most of the LFS sell them , take the old one off so you replace with the same.

So I took the lamp apart and the ballast is in a case that looks like a complete set-up. No single cylinders. I'm thinking I need to replace the entire case. Anyone have an idea where I would replace a Coralife Ballast.

what bulb and how many? If it's a 2 bulb t8, any hardware store will have them. Ask for electronic (smaller usually white) rather than magnetic (larger, heavy, usually black). For a t5 or t5ho you may need to go to an electrical wholesaler/online.

Actually, that is the starter.

Good call .....it says that right on the package as there were 2 on the card......what read first...no way.....anyway I had the same blinking problem and those starters fixed it real good......

The cylinder starters are incorporated into a casing for this light. Would an electronics store have this or would I need to order specifically from someone carrying Coralife lights.
