Froggie
I caught my Tropheus sp. black "pemba" spawning this afternoon. It gave me a good chance to take a few shots with my new lens. All shots were taken with the Nikon 50mm f/1.8, flash, shutter speed of 1/160 and F/10.

Molino
Nice pictures. I really like the fish as well. I would like to keep Tropheus one day. What ISO setting did you have your camera set on?
Froggie
Molino, ISO 200 for all shots.
johnsmith
The pictures look great and the colour on your Tropheus (Trophei?:shifty: ) is fantastic.
Molino
Ok thanks, I was just wondering because it looked like there was some "noise/graininess" in photo #3 in the shadow under the rock. Looking more closely though, I think it's because the shadow is cast onto the sand that it has that look Nice catch by the way, it's not often you get the chance to photograph fish while spawning! How are you liking the new lense?

Froggie
How are you liking the new lense? Not sure, I've still got to get used to it. The minimum focusing distance is about 1.5ft vs. the 11.4 inches for the 18-55mm kit lens. I find it very difficult to fill the frame with the fish because of it, all these tropheus shots were crops. HOSStile
At least put those black bars over their eyes. Nice pictures despite the "R" rating. Sorry I just had to do this will delete if it offends. Edited October 3, 2005 by HOSStile
