  1. I have not tried the FX5 either but I am quite happy with the 4 XP3 filters I have. I love the ease of service.
  2. Have you tried this Lisa? I think you will be far more succesful. http://albertaaquatica.com/index.php?showtopic=11713
  3. You could always separate the males from the females
  4. Yes there is, I lost some discus due to this happening.

  7. Normaly a clicking sound indicates a piece of debris either in the impeller area or directly in the housing. Remove the filter and take the motor assembly off the casing, pull the assembly out of the housing and whipe it out with a Q-tip rinse it out and reassemble it. This should cure the problem.
  8. If you want to do an off the forum auction, feel free to do so. But after the hassle of the online CLF auction we had last year we will not be doing anymore unless there is a specific and significant reason.
  9. Try using photobucket. http://photobucket.com/
  10. If you can soak some garlic powder with chopped up earth worms he might eat them. The garlic works as a dewormer, I use it regularly for my discus.
  11. This thread is supposed to be for members to list their plants. If you are looking for plants please pm the member or post in the buy and sell.

  13. I'm not sure why, but it should work now.
  14. Interresting list of fish. I wonder why they don't have Sauger on there. http://www.fishalberta.com/Species/sauger.htm
  15. What about using members videos with their permission?
  16. OK, back to the starters. Zebra danios make excellent starter fish to get the tank established. Possibly some of the live bearers but not the mollies. White-clouds are also a suggestion.
  17. I keep them together with out issue
  18. Best bang for your buck is the Rena filters. I have 4 of them and the only issue I've had is when one of the O-rings on the valve body needed replacing. I took it to Canadian Tire and got an automotive replacement one for under a quarter.
  19. For a beginner with discus I would strongly recomend bare bottom tank, 30% water changes every second day, or more depending on age of discus and stocking level. Also brackish water would most likely kill them very quickly. When I first got into discus I read a number of books about discus and spent quite a bit of time browsing this site: http://forum.simplydiscus.com/index.php
  20. Take your pick, but be aware of the power consumption. http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=de...&oq=dehumid
  21. Normally it is not an issue to have smaller angels with larger ones.
  22. You should be able to get the pane for around $100, it will be considerably more for the plywood tank
  23. I have a couple of the 3-plus and 4-plus Fluvals. They are almost impossible to plug, but very limited on on media options.
