  1. How did you make out with your fish and the bloat issue????
  2. Say have you found yourself a 50 gallon tank yet???
  3. I say go for it!!! There are always place to get rid of fish for feeding!!!! Hell, I have seen petland sell convicts for $5.00 each at inch. the buy and sell is always a good place to advertise, but don't be expecting to get rich off the fry.....LOL
  4. I just noiced that I have a cyp female holding!!!! I was wondering when these guys would get going!!!! Funny, it happened about 10 days after I started feeding NLS!!!! Might be a coincidence.....but...Thanks Neil!!!!!
  5. http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/store_p...?category_ID=59 JL Aquatics: I don't recommend the HOT magnuns, I have used them in the past and am not all that pleased with the job they do. They work great with the diatom sleave for water polishing!!!!! Gold's prices compete very well with JL aquatics!!!!!
  6. Start with 50 lbs, which I think is still a lot and see how it works
  7. Keep rinsing it till the water runs clear!!! Are you really going to put that much sand in you tank???? I use barely enough sand to cover the bottom of the tank, a thin layer so the glass does not show. This makes it a lot easier when it comes to water changes!!!!!
  8. I've never had anything in any of my fry tanks!!
  9. I'd take out all the caves and what not and keep it "bare"..I find it easier to raise fry that way and I also find that when fry mature, they are more outgoing and tend to hide less!!!!!
  10. Give Gold's a phaone call, may be you best bet: 273-5567 or even try chums as they have been quite competitive in prices as well!!!!
  11. Goto any Hot-tub retailer or any place that sells swimming pool maintainance supplies!!!!
  12. The number for Gold's is 273-5567 The 45 gallon is he smallest 4' standard tank. any other dimension and it would be custom
  13. Best to PM "albert_dao" as he works there!!!
  14. I use to get several of those 2 headed fry from one of my female "neon blue's" I always just culled them by feeding them to thier parents!!!!
  15. If you have a added a new fish recently, that may be where the problem started the new fish could have been sick.... I'd start treating the whole tank with CLOUT asap and follow the posted instructions. Then on the lastr day (day 6) perform a 50% water change and that should be the end of your problem, DO NOT feed your fish anything starting NOW... Also, what are you feeding these fish on daily basis????
  16. CLOUT will also cure other internal parasites in the fish!!!
  17. For further along cases of bloat, you want to use "CLOUT" to cure your tank in the manner described below!!!! If you do not have CLOUT, I will be up for a while and you are welcome to come by and grab enough for your first days treatment. Let me know via PM ASAP and I can give you directions!!!!! 18. If it is bloat, take out the carbon inserts from your filters and add some salt and epsom salt to the water....... Where are you located and what is the size of your tank????
  19. I'd run over to Gold's, they just got two shipments of German Rams in, the smaller ones (1")are $3.99 and larger ones are (1.5-2")$4.99. They are show awesome color!!!!!!
  20. Well, the way I see it you could go one of two ways. If you want to keep Yellow Labs, I would go with an all mbuna set-up with about: - 6-8 yellow labs (Labidochromis caeruleus), 6-8 http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=713 - 6-8 Metriaclima estherae (blue - red) http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=791 - 6-8 Pseudotropheus socolofi (Albino) http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1786 I think kind of a tank would be VERY active and a nice blend of colors, also, all of fish listed are quire readily available and quite inexpensive!!!! The other waqy to go would be an all Hap tank. I am assuming that your tank will be 48" long and 18" wide. If this is the case these would make for a nice tank: Trio or quad (1 male rest female) of the below: - Copadichromis azureus http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1008 - Protomelas sp. "Steveni Taiwan" (Taiwanee Reef) http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1235 - Aulonocara sp. "Stuartgranti Maleri" http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1410 It all depends on what kind of a look you want and the kind of fish that you personally find attractive!!!! I hope that helps a littel, feel free to ask more questions!!!!! Cheers,

  22. Here how I have done it in the past with out removing fish: First take out all the decor that's large. Then, I use a good sized fish net and start scooping out the gravel, the net will catch it all...When you have just a few bits left in a corner, I use just the yubing of the gravel cleaner to suck it out. Then make sure you new substrate is cleaned out and carefully start putting it back in then set up your tank.... All the crap that is in the old gravel will be stired up a bit, but it will not harm your fish. If there is a ton of crap, then wait till it settles and vaccum it out or lett the filter pick it up BEFORE putting the new sand in!!!! I would use pool filter sand as I have seen many people use it and it is quite cheap. Good Luck,
  23. You should be fine then, as long as you can no longer smell the silicone!!!
  24. I always like to let the silicone cure for a about a week and then filler up and let it sit for a few days!!!!
  25. Try using food soaked in "METRO" for internal parasites!!!!! I believe Riverfront sells Metro.
