  1. Go to the nearest butcher shop ask them to cut some up for you and bag it. Lana
  2. Feeding NLS TherA is optional. Where do you buy the Jungle Tank Buddies Parasite Clear from? Lana
  3. OMG, it is beautiful!!! Lana
  4. Do you have prime and stability? If you do, you vacuum out your water 15-20%, then add your new water, put the prime in right away, follow directions on the bottle, I normally wait 20 minutes then add the appropriate amount of stability. We don't use our tap water, my husband brings the tap water from his work place, so when I can I add the prime to the jug and let it set over night before adding it to the tank, then I can put the stability in right away. That is how I do my water changes, someone else might offer different advise. Lana
  5. The most common Frontosa's you will see at LFS is the Burundi, they are collected from the northern part of the lake tanginika(sp). You can join a frontosa group at www.frontosa.com or you can simply do a search to find the species that most capture's your eye. I have decided to go with the Kipili frontosa's, mine are still young and all under 2" but I plan to keep them until they reach monsterhood...haha... I can try and get you more info, if you want some just PM. Lana
  6. He is beautiful! If only he knew that you were getting the best picture with him pissed hey... haha Lana
  7. They are beautiful and great shots too!!! Lana
  8. When keeping malawi's they perfer rocks and sand as substraight, they could care less about plants. You can do a google search and all the readings will say to have rock in their tank, they could care less if it is free rock or if you paid a mint, ask them they will tell ya...haha... My opinion is this, put some rocks in, go ask a farmer if you can dig in their rock piles, there are some nice rocks to be found, round, flat odd ball shaped... they will not cost you a cent either. Lana
  9. In my larger tank, still not large enough, but will have to do for now... I am putting in there, kipili frontosa's and blue dolphin moorii. Right now they will probably look like midget's in the tank, but will soon fill it up. I am also bringing up some holey rock to put into the tank... Lana
  10. OH she is the perfect age too, trained and doesn't chew you out of shoes, remotes or wiring... We have a toy poodle that loves to chew on wiring, and my brothers boxer ate money, remote and shoe's when he was a pup.... the joy's of young dogs... Lana
  11. I had checked throughout the day, right up until 10pm I believe. So between 8 and 9am several times, 11:30-12:30 several times then a few times in the afternoon and in the evening, I believe yesterday was the longest outage. Would be nice if they could obtain a different hosting company, one that does not have problems with their IP's. Lana
  12. You might see some pictures in my album, but I just went to our neighbours (farmer) and he had lots of rocks, all my kind of pricing ... FREE... I was able to find a few flat one's, and I also purchased Malasian drift wood, not my kind of pricing but love the looks of the tank, and a lot of the fish love the driftwood to hide in, like the Salausi, demonsoni and the front's. I also just purchased some texas holey rock that I will be adding to the new 120gal. As well as a couple of pieces of driftwood and some fake plants. Oh yeah and I purchased some plastic piping, it is not a T joint, but looks more like a screwed up Y...haha, I purchased the largest size I think it is 3" in diameter... I put it under one of the flat rocks, just to add more hiding area's... Lana
  13. GS's are fantastic coyote control if you have more then one! My uncle had a couple one would grab the coyote by the tail while the other grabbed it by the scruff and tug awar was done, as was the coyote... I do not have GS, we have a great pyr one purebred and one great pyr x border collie x neuf... the border collie x goes into the bush while the great pyr guards the tree line, they work great together. We live on 80 acres; therefore coyote control is a must. They also do not like deer, moose, fox, or other animals stopping by our place, however sometimes they will let the fox slide... not sure why maybe they don't see him/her as a real threat. Before the dogs, our cats were the coyotes main coarse, now we have lots of cats..haha... How old is she? She is stunning, I would love to get a white long haired shepard... although it would not stay white for long at our place....
  14. I love your setup it looks so natural!!! I spent all my money too...boohooo Lana
  15. Lisa I love the color in your tank, it looks beautiful! Lana
  16. Awesome pix. We don't have rattlers up here just garden snakes, drove by one once, thought it was a piece of fan belt, noticed the yellow stripe and new it was a snake, so backed up to investigate, looked like it was ran over, but still alive so I bugged him enough that he slithered into the ditch... Kids asked why I didn't bring it home, told them did that a couple times as kids and the last one we caught had sixty babies, was not interested in that so it stayed where it was at, as I don't sex snakes! Lana
  17. We put some with our crown tail betta and he could care less, they sit in the open all the time with no worries at all. The one's we put in with the splended I don't know how they are I can not see them very well against the pink rock... the splended is more agressive so he could of eaten them, or they could just blend in and I can not see them. We have with the crown tail, severl cherry shrimp (thanks val) and one otto. The other betta we have snails, and cherry shrimp. the crown tails tank is 5gal the splended's is 4.6 gal. Lana
  18. I do believe your tank has cycled. As for the fish, that is entirely up to you. Lana
  19. I think the electric yellows would be happier in a 33gal tank. If they are juvi's then you could probably get away with keeping them in a 20 gal for a bit. Keep lots of rocks and hiding places. I have read on other forums where people have kept them successfully in a 20 -25gal, however I don't personally feel they would be the most happy there. But you wont know unless you try... If they are not happy and constantly fighting then you could always put them into a bigger tank. Lana
  20. Welcome to AA! I love the red crystal shrimp, I think they are fancy. BlackMumba, sounds like your black's are having an identity crises, hehehe... Lana
  21. :welcome: to AA. My husband is the same way, I just tell him there is the door don't let it hit you on the @$$ on the way out... :smokey: I live on a farm, we have two toy poodles, two large breed dogs outside, a number of cats, more on the way, 24 head of horses (quarter horses & paints all reg.) and lastly I have several tanks of fish... Hubby told me I am getting carried away with the fish, he is right but I wont tell him that. He also has no problems with helping me getting the stand set up...secretly he loves the fish... just not that many tanks...hehe  Lana
  22. I am glad your daughter woke up your wife, who in turned woke you up, although you probably wished you were sleeping and it was your nightmare, I am certainly glad all ended well. When Lisa and I were kids, it was us that woke up my parents to our moble home burning to the ground, we were only 2 at the time, but because of us our family is alive. The trailer burned to the ground. Our fire detecter is electric, and that damn thing goes off every time there is a power surge or the power turns back on... good thing is we don't have to replace batteries, bad thing is it's annoying beep when the power goes out... last year a squirrel or cat was electricuted and that caused a power outage, woke us up cause the dang fire detector went off..
