    Mko's 15 Gallon

    eeeeeeee!:shifty:
  2. in one tank i use a mix of flourite/gravel leftover from one of my other tanks and my plants love it.. even though i done have the depth of substrate they like. my other tank has straight flourite sand and boy do my plants love that! now to find some micro sword!!! :P IME tabs (flouish/homemade ((i got a good recipe!)) are a great way to supplement nutrients for plants. i use them so i dont have to dose ferts as much. it works great for me! Amy LOL SORRY!!! i posted on Kyles account! damn i do this all the time!!!!
  3. Ive only seen a couple of sump'd setups up close and did not notice any smell or anything different than my canister setups. The versaltility and ease of use of the sump is way better than the canisters. I dont enjoy carrying my FX5 to the tub and cant wait till i have my sump finished after i move. Sump>canister>HOB>built in>foam air filter>undergravel <----- IMO
  4. haha they are getting pretty cute lol!
  5. if you email jj_142 @ h o tma i l .com Her name is Candice and she will be happy to take the fish as she has a fish rescue setup in NE edm
  6. i would say 2 would be a good number. My girlfriend has a 15 gallon shrimp tank with 2 in it.
  7. proud papa! get some better pics up when you get a chance..
  8. personally i have a lot of different brands of air pumps accross our tanks and find that the rena are not only the best quality but they are likely the quietest out of the major brands. I have not tried the "stellar" branded air pumps from big als though.. I find the worst quality pumps to be the tetra whisper pumps as they need to be rebuilt often to keep them quiet
  9. nice thread! I will have to keep an eye on it... Kyle
  10. We got ours from the planted tank too. Very good looking and it was cost effective

    awesome!!! :smokey:
  12. Posted 28 March 2010 i think that it likely doesnt matter anymore..
  13. i dont think it would benefit in any real way. i was in the exact same situation and i got the technique down really quickly once i got it figured out. no heat is going to help much with silicone set years in the past
  14. I work with silicone everyday in large quantities at work and i dont reccomend that with a tank IMO. I took apart my 140 because of the same issue and had the same problems with tightly installled glass panes.. I just had to keep working it until i could hold onto the top of the pane and wiggle it back and forth until the silicone broke hold where i couldnt get my blade into at the bottom half.. good luck
  15. Our mixed Cichlid tank that "SkyGrl" posted up with the background etc 140 Pygo tank

  18. we were able to pick some up at big als in edmonton when we had a possible fish tb issue.
  19. Protein quantity has nothing to do with bloat. As stated by the OP, it already is eating properly, and the last thing that you want to do to a fish that is otherwise acting & eating normally, is withold nutrients, which is what amino acids (protein) are. lol sorry i either filled that part in, in my head or i didnt read it right haha. I thought he wasnt eating for some reason
  20. i still dont agree with any protiens until he's eating properly again..
  21. If possible move the cichlid to another tank and feed him about two to three times a day. Feed him protein based food in the morning and some spirulina flake or pellet in the evening. If he still skinny and theres no change i would have to say he has a parasite. Look for a parasite medicacation that he fish will can eat. Try to get the fish more food and see how that goes for now good luck and i hope everything goes allright. i wouldnt feed any protien based foods. I would just stick to veggie based food until he eats again. I would guess this to be a parasite and would reccomend medicated food and a quarantine in a 10 gallon if you have it
  22. welcome to the forum. I work in GP for 10 day shifts at weyerhauser. Decent little city there!
