  6. Welcome aboard. Looks like you've been bitten by the fish bug badly. BTW it is called MTS- multiple tank syndrome. A lot of us here suffer from it and unfortunately there is no cure except for one- get MORE tanks. The only problem is unless you are able to infect your significant other with the same disease, you learn really quickly to come up with excuses eg fish tanks need to be in pairs/ groups otherwise they get lonely. Good luck!!

  9. Welcome aboard or shall I say, welcome back to AA!!
  10. For 180 gal, why not a sump? waaaaay more filtering capacity depending on what you are putting into the tank. IMHO if you use just one filter even if it is rated for the volume you may find you have dead spots in the tank. Also given that I subscribe to the more filter, more better philosophy I'd say do 2 filters, one on each end. Just my 2 cents
  11. Welcome aboard!! Good people here. I too have just started on shrimp and feed them NLS. They are growing and multiplying. I agree with BettaFishMummy not to mix them as you may have interbreeding.

  16. Welcome aboard. Lots of good info and lots of great people and some strange ones too!! :welcome: Jayba, I am almost afraid to ask for a translation!!
  17. What if you rolled 'em up tightly like newspapers?
  18. Had a big Oscar do that once. He didn't make it. Now most of my tanks have lights that block the lids but a real pain to lift the lids
  19. No problem. Hopefully that will solve your problem. Also getting a stone that gives you finer bubbles may help. Glad to be of assistance (beats working, hope the boss doesn't catch me!! )
  20. Is your water level at the trim? If it is, sometimes water will wick up and over if it isn't properly sealed( most aren't) and evaporate leaving hard water residue behind. not necessarily salt like that which you put in. Also look around and behind the tank for traces of water flowing down as the water may come down somewhere else and flow to the front.
