  1. Lookin good! Can't wait to see what he's gonna look like in the future. What kinda setup you got him in? Any tank mates?
  2. What I've done in the past if you didn't want to suck on the outlet is just take the out, make sure the hoses are full of water, plug the out with your thumb and release it into a bucket below the tank. Then when you got water flow put it back up. And from reading your post maybe you forgot to put back in the little ceramic rod or axle that holds the impellor in place. Should be only about 2 - 3 inches long and a little bit thicker than a toothpick. I had an eheim with the same problem in the past. The impellor would spin then stop like it got stuck. Once I put the rod in it would keep spinning no problems.
  3. Lookin good. Love the green!
  4. Looks fungal to me. With my old aro that had cloudy eye, after a while of good water quality the gunk just sort of bubbled and fell off. Mind you mine didn't look that bad. I hope it pulls through tho. As for food try meal worms or superworms. Aros seem to love em.
  5. Just stay diligent I'd say. Give it some time and it should improve
  6. Anyone on the forums keeping Cuban cichlids(nandopsis tetracanthus)?? I'd like to purchase some if anyone's got any they'd like to get rid of. Got a ~4.5inch F1.5 male festae that i'd be willing to trade for one too if that interests anyone
  7. Love uarujoey vids. He's got some great vids with great ideas. I specially liked his vid with the maxi-jet turned water flosser-brilliant! I used his design for a friend's 6ft 180g last summer and it's super sturdy.
  8. Put in a feeder see if he goes for that
  9. Try leaving your net in the tank with some algae wafers or some other sinking veggie matter over night. Remove in the morning. Couple nights and you should be snail free
  10. Mysis shrimp work great when they're small, your discus would eat em too. Should try to get them on pellets later on tho
  11. Although I've heard mixed reviews, I've had luck using melafix on fin rot/tore fins. I never used a full dosage and it seemed to help with an old aro i use to have. But from what I know as long as the water is clean the aro will recover.
  12. Got a good lookin male mbuna and buncha decor stuff for a great price, lotta fun definately going to the next one.
  13. looks great! def gonna incorporate this into my tank.
  14. Recently i went to big al's here in edmonton. They were renovating and i noticed all the tanks on the wall have been taken down. I asked the manager there what they were gonna do with them. Long story short picked up a 110g 5footer for $20. This was maybe 2 weeks ago. When i saw they still had 3 or so left, so if you're lucky maybe they'll have some left and you can score one too. Mind you they had 2 holes drilled on the tops of the tanks on the back for their filtration but nothing a couple pieces of glass and silicone won't cover.
  15. Hi there, been rearing fish for about 12 odd years now. Mainly arowanas but a few pacus and oscars as well. Currently have a Red tailed Gold arowana, a planted betta tank with some cherry shrimp, 4 turtles and a dog named oreo. Hoping to meet some friends, talk bout fish, and have a good time.
