MarkN
I found this add a little strange: http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-pets-accessorie...QAdIdZ158589054
Wingin' It
I saw this early this AM too...and just thought that they were out of their freakin' minds!
jesp
hahaha, ya I saw this the other day. His corals keep dying and he wants to make some money off it. Selling dead pets, now THAT is a business man.
sharuq1
I didn't think it was strange, just outdated. Way back when keeping salt water was just a pipe dream, keeping dead corals was a way to decorate and buffer your tank water. Since it is no longer legal to ship in dead corals as tank decor, this is not something one sees very often anymore. Considering most people keep live coral now though I think his price is questionable.
Murminator
wow live corals would been cheaper :shifty:
fleshgear
wow, i have a piece of dried coral. i should try and sell it.. lol
Ishkabod
I can kind of understand why the prices are high. They are very unique pieces and nobody wants to kill their corals to put into a freshwater setup. I'd pay 20-30 dollars easy for one of the nicer larger ones to put in my cichlid tank. Funky_Fish14
Actually, as Sharuq1 mentioned... Dried coral, like coral skeleton, now has restrictions placed on it's import, just like live corals, and so it has actually not nessesarily increased in value, but has not decreased, because of it's rarity, and increased difficulty to find. I do agree though, that person is asking far too much, lol.
Corey James
I saw this add last week too and emailed him.... Thought I would be smart and asked him if he had some magical way of bringing coral back to life or something along those lines.... lol. There had to be a higher reason for the insane pricing. He merely told me they are for decoration. So I think he is just trying to get some mula for corals he may have killed.
