ÐÉÅÑ
Will BN'S keep the glass in ones aquarium algae free?
HOSStile
For the hard green algae i use a credit card for a scraper. Are scotch bright pads safe? they aren't treated with anything? I also use filter floss sometimes to wipe the inside glass on some of my smaller tanks. Funny I use my credit card to buy more mag floats and yes scotchbrite, but even better is a pack of sponges that have scotch brite bonded on one side, you can find them at the looney stores. thefishdude
Are they crap factories like my sailfin is? What about CAE's or Otto's? Does one have to make the choice between cleaning the algae yourself OR having "coilers" left for you that you end up cleaning anyway? Are there any other options?? Vallisneria
Even with BN plecos in my tanks i still have to clean off the front glass every so often. The BN plecos don't seem to eat the hard green algae(green spot algae) so i have to scrap that off every couple of water changes. My BN are poop factories but they stay small so they aren't as bad as some of the larger plecos(common, sailfins)
arixonbarnes
I have found the Zebra snails to be excellent for keeping algae down. They are expensive $5 or more before discounts depending on where you shop and their eggs never hatch in fresh water (drat!) but they do an excellent job.
