ckmullin
reminds me of a damselfly nymph I've had these in the past...no idea where they came from but they didn't cause any harm to at least my tank. http://www.wattylereducation.info/media/image/q/8/damselfly_nymph.jpg Edited April 9, 2014 by ckmullin

jvision
They are predators, though I'm not sure if they can only handle soft-bodied prey. They may pick off the odd baby shrimp, but if you're population is healthy and thriving I doubt you notice a difference.

grumpyray
I have been removing them from the tank in the last few days and already caught more than 10 of them. I haven't seen any new one last night and hoping that its the end of it. Thanks.

Frogfish
I wonder how often people get native insects invading home aquaria. There is also a post somewhere on the forum where someone has moth larvae in the tank. Other potential local squatters may be dragonfly, mosquito, water boatmen, damselfly, water sprite, lacewing, water beetle and giant water beetle and giant water bug to name a few. that I can think of. Has anyone noticed anything else creeping in the tank? My filter often has gammarus shrimp in the sponges.
flyfisher
Try small grey leeches about a 1.5" long thankfully the Amano shrimp made a quick meal out of them.Always thought Amanos were peaceful until I witnessed the slaughter 1st hand. grumpyray
I've also noticed there were some long white worm on the tank bottom. I think that is from overfeeding.
