Awesome pics! Makes me "algae green" with envy. Doc

Hey Rob, You could mount it to a sheet of plexi or thin slate and rest it on your tank bottom. The weight of your substrate and water would then hold it in place. Just a suggestion! Doc

Actually, I use Big Al's Water Conditioner. Seems to work just as well as any brand I've used in the past and costs less $$$. Doc

:welcome: Welcome aboard Len. Enjoy your time at AA.

Just a suggestion...... Buy an Eheim and use the Fluval case for a nice planter. Squirrel or bird feeder maybe? -roll- Sorry Darcy, I couldn't help myself!

Spray bar noise.....I assume? Place the spray bar lower in the water column, OR, point the bar down at a 45 degree angle. This will eliminate noise and create a nice circular current. The Doc

Hey rainmaker69, I used to sell electrical for a living so I'll offer my $0.02 IMO, it sounds like the fluorescent starter is the problem, rather than the bulb or ballast. This is a cheap and easy fix. Electrical vendors or decent aquarium stores carry these starters as standard stock items. (In case you don't know, the starter is a white (usually) plastic cylinder with two metal pins on the end.) I would try this first, before shelling out the $$$ for other parts. Keep us posted! Another thing to keep in mind punman, Don't go spend the $$$ on a pre-fab sump in some aquarium store. They are far too costly for what you get. Use the experience of our members here to build a DIY bio-tower and sump. We are all willing to help out however we can. Doc_Polit

Nice gallery kid! You've got a great looking tank, and a nice selection of fish..... Even though they are SA's. We all know Africans rule! Doc_Polit

Holy :cuss: Sorry punman.......when I chimed in about the Eheim 2260, I was thinking purely practicality and not price tag. Big Al's online has the 2260 for......are you ready for this? $529.99 As well, it comes without media. :boxed: For that price it should be self-cleaning, feed your fish, and do water changes. LOL! Would you rather drive a Ferrari or a Buick? -roll- Just kidding.......not trying to invite hatemail from Filstar XP fans. Both filters are great filters for their specific cost bracket. Simply a matter of personal preference and/or budget. Coming from an Eheim fan, I totally agree with African_Fever. If I were you, I would invest in a 2260 and run your 2217 as well. Monster filtration for a monster tank. :boxed: Doc_Polit

Nice looking tank Karen! I like the way you set up your rockwork. Those larger rocks look great. Doc_Polit

Sorry to hear about your Electra, Val. I wish I had some insight into how/why this could have happened, but I don't. I'll let you know if I come across any for sale. Doc_Polit

A little difficult to see the detail without larger pics, but amazing work just the same Rob! I wish I had a fraction of your woodworking talent. The Doc -
