  1. Uhhh do you have pictures of it?
  2. Looks awesome Jonah, I may have to grab some of these fry from you!
  3. 3/8's on a little tank can seem excessive. Is there a centre brace? Bowing has nothing to do with the seams, just with the thickness of glass, and if there is eurobracing/cleating or trim w/ a brace. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me, I work with tanks on a daily basis.
  4. That's false. Melafix can actually make some diseases worse. IMO, its more than likely an internal thing going on with your fish....is there plants or anything in the tank? And how new was the tank? There are many things that could contribute to the deterioration of a fishes immune system when prolonged to exposure. Also, have you dosed with anything besides Prime or Stability? And how new are your bottles of chemicals?
  5. You need to relax lol. If it doesn't eat for a couple days it'll be fine.
  6. theyre garbage.....too many manipulated variables in using them.
  7. Once that Texas gets some size on him, say bye bye to your other fish.
  8. Make sure its the PE Mysis too, its a fat building machine. You could also try cyclopeeze. You can buy it in powder, frozen, and sticks.
  9. If you buy the NLS it'll just be a waste of money. He's not going to eat prepared foods. Ecosystems Garlic Elixir is a potent stuff that is basically the best garlic additive you can use....its so potent you need to keep it in two contains. Mix mysis, krill, and brine shrimp with a couple drops of that in a water solution and that should do the trick. If not you might be out of luck.
  10. Remember ich can stay dormant in your tank for months after it is treated, so be careful.
  11. It is a uropthalamus. And as for dividers, use eggcrate works like a charm. And IMO, you shouldn't worry about Flowerhorns until you have a tank big enough for the fish you already have.
  12. I would guess the same.. , whats the size of the tank? ok thanks guys........20 gallon, trying to build my way up, only thing stopping me is a move thats going to happen in the next month or two then I want to hit up the flowerhorns then this tank can be a seperator/sick/fry tank or whatever..... thanks again These things can reach 18" I believe. I had one that was 14" and it couldn't be kept with very many fish. That's actually a Cutteri, not a Uropthalamus.
  13. Uropthalamus. False red terror is the common name. Pretty damn mean fish too.
  14. Lol why don't you measure your tank? Or buy the tank before you build a stand lol.
  15. Almost right at 11PM. They must've lasted a good 2.5 hours or more too. We just sat out there and watched them. My neck hurt a little after lol.
  16. Lol the city is smoggy you wouldn't of seen them very well. I was over an hour out of the city last night, and they STARTED right on top of my friend and I. it was awesome.
  17. If you're patching it and there is only downwards force on it, silcone will adhere fine to acrylic. BUT if thats gonna be all the support, I wouldn't do it. And also, if you're going to do that, I'd use an acrylic primer and sand down some of the acrylic as well to make it a bit rougher, give the silicone something to grab to. And Paul, silicone doesn't stick worth SH*T to plexiglass, been there done that lol.
  18. Put filters on the rubbermaids, and buy a new stand.
  19. Where are you gonna put it when its bigger?
  20. I think its fine as long as there is a little flow and the water doesn't go stagnant.
  21. Sounds like velvet to me. Buy some coppersafe and treat the fish.
  22. Probably just a manufacturer defect on Hagen's part. I'd get it replaced.
  23. ALSO, don't use plexi glass, that's also looking for disaster. I build fish tanks for a living and siliconing plexi glass and real glass is a no no.
  24. Thats usually what happens when you put other fish that can't hold their own with jewels.
