    New Racking

No i never thought of doing that. I want to keep my water at 80. How would i heat the room high enough. Its in an open floor plan basement not an individual room. The racks are well supported an bolted to the mall.
  5. I agree with you. I have mostly Lake Malawi but i have thrown in a couple others here and there. Are you planning on breeding your fish?
  6. Stocking list looks good. Very nice choice of fish. Are you planning on breeding? If so, you will have some problems with cross breeding(especially the peacocks) and won't be able to keep any of the fry unless you witness them breeding yourself. Selling Hybrid Cichlids is not a good idea if you want to keep a good reputation. I also noticed that you were mixing Lakes. Not normally a good idea but it can be done. Its not overly stocked for a 135 so you might be in luck. Good luck with your fish and I hope to see pictures soon.
  7. I clean mine whenever i have free time. Which happens to be probably 3 times a yr. Every 4 months or so. I currently have 2 xp4's and 1 xp3 on my 210 gallon.
  8. Welcome. You might have bought fish from me as well. Hope everyone is doing good.
  9. I had this happen to me about a month ago. My Femals auratus had taken on male coloration because she was the most dominant in the tank. You can try and vent your fish to see if its a male for sure.
  10. I wouldn't suggest it but you can get smaller dwarf cichlids that might be ok in a 29 gallon. I wouldn't go with a mbuna tank since they have a dendancy to be very aggressive. There are alwasy exceptions to every rule. So i give it a try and see what happens
  11. I had Bolivian Ram Cichlids in a 20 gallon for a while. Loved watching the little guys. If its heavily planted, there right at home. Must say there color is superb when you get the right light and there is not a dominance issue.
  12. Sorry to hear about your loss. Blue dolphins are defiantly wonderful fish.
  13. Congrats on the future fry. They are beautiful fish.
  14. Looks very nice. I don't have a green thumb so i would never to able to pull that off. But i do have a couple plants that have survived me as well as my Africans in the 210 gallon. Just lucky i guess. Keep up the good work.
  15. Welcome to AA. I did notice that Big Als has some Larger male convicts. There hidden under the Clown Loach tank. The Convicts aren't very expensive there(one of the only fish that are reasonable) so it might be something you want to look into. Oh...and good luck trying to talk to us all, there are plenty of us.
  16. I would measure the fertilizer, buffer, meds and prime for the 56 gallons but the lights for the 75. Light calculations have to due with the depth of the tank. although the tank is holding less water, it still has the same depth.
  17. Thanks. Ill try and get a full body shot soon. Our house in a pig sty since we are putting in the racks. Second rack is going in today
  18. Looks very nice, You should post a couple more close up pictures.
  19. Thought i would make this topic so i could look back on the fish i have had. Sunburst Peacock Male My Masculine Dominant Female Auratus Young Male Polit The Trio Male Red Zebra Chinese Algae Eater Demasoni Venustus Close Up

    New Racking

Of course. I don't know what i would do if i lost all my fish because the rack fell forward. I don't even want to think about that haha. Ya were taking all the safety precautions.
