I also have a BN, which I thought wasn't doing much until I took him out. I took him out because my mbuna wouldn't leave him alone :boxer: . I put him back in b/c the algae was getting bad, then he started getting shredded again. I recently got rid of the mbuna so I hope he has a more peaceful and productive existence. He's always out and about during the day, though he takes off whenever I approach the tank. I'd like more types of pl*cos but they poo too much.

PS - either my math is way off or there's something wrong with the poll percentages

my 90g has one female BN pleco, and several bridgesii apple snails.

My 40g planted tank has 5 amano shrimp. They are the only thing that I can find that effectively cleans java moss and small plants. I had no luck with ottos early on, so I have given up on them. The shrimp make excellent cleaners!

Just call me the Snail SPCA. I'll take any and all snails. I burn through pond snails especially, and red ramshorn (the thinner shell, smaller variety) at a crazy rate.

I've got a Royal Panaque.

All these bristlenose pleco's everyone has, they all have crazy bristles, but everytime I see them for sale at a LFS, they have teeny tiny little bristles, even when full grown.
